  • Do I need to get down on the floor and back up? Nearly all of the exercises are done standing or sitting in a chair. Some movements include getting on the floor, but can easily be skipped and you’ll still get a full workout.
  • What equipment is needed? All you need is a chair & a mat. If you want to increase the intensity you can also use a light weight & an exercise band, but it’s not required.
  • How physically demanding is this class? This is an easy, entry-level class specifically designed for older adults. Some exercises will push you, but modifications are provided so anyone of any fitness level can take it.

    Highly recommend

    Excellent class for getting back into fitness after a few years away. I tried another companies program for menopausal women and ended up hurting myself the first week. This program has great warm up and stretching as well as advice for taking things at your own pace, rather than pushing yourself too hard. Despite my review being from a woman's perspective this workout would be suitable for anyone. I ended up doing the third day several times before adding weights, which happens in day 4.

    This class is great and perfect for following on from Maria’s ‘Weight management for older people’ which I enjoyed. Almost finished this and looking forward to deciding which class to progress too. I certainly feel a lot stronger and fitter since starting these classes but a long way to go to get fully toned up!

    This one really gets you moving!

    This course gets you moving in a gentle, low-impact way. I have osteoarthritis in one knee and limited mobility due to overweight. Mel shows you different options to get the most out of each workout. A suggestion: do each "day" for a week or two so you really get used to the movements. Then progress to day 2, 3, etc. It took me about 8 months to get through the entire course, as some classes were harder for me to master than others.
